Today in history:15th of sept 1821.Guatemala got they independance

 
Following almost 300 years of Spanish colonial rule (1523-1821), Guatemala is celebrating its annual Independence Day on 15 September.
Nobel Laureates born in Guatemala:
Miguel Angel Asturias, #NobelPrize in Literature 1967
"for his vivid literary achievement, deep-rooted in the national traits and traditions of Indian peoples of Latin America”

Rigoberta Menchú Tum, #NobelPeacePrize 1992
"in recognition of her work for social justice and ethno-cultural reconciliation based on respect for the rights of indigenous peoples"
